✧ Indeed, the likeness of you and the Jews and the Christians is that of a man who employed laborers and said, "Who will work for me from early morning until midday for a qirat?" So the Jews worked. Then he said, "Who will work for me from midday until the ʿAsr prayer for a qirat?" So the Christians worked from midday until the ʿAsr prayer. Then he said, "Who will work for me from the ʿAsr prayer until sunset for two qirats?" So you worked. Then the Jews and the Christians became angry and said, "We do more work but receive less pay?" He said, "Have I wronged you in anything?" They said, "No." He said, "Then that is My bounty; I give it to whom I will."
