وَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا رَوْحٌ، نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْأَخْنَسِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ آجَالِكُمْ فِي آجَالِ مَنْ خَلَا كَمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى مَغْرِبِ الشَّمْسِ، وَإِنَّمَا مَثَلُكُمْ وَمَثَلُ الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ اسْتَعْمَلَ عُمَّالًا

Translation

✧ Indeed, the likeness of your lifespans in relation to the lifespans of those who came before is as the time between the ʿAsr prayer and sunset. And indeed, the likeness of you and the Jews and the Christians is that of a man who employed laborers.
