machine translationKhalaf b. Aḥmad, Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yaḥyā informed us, saying: Aḥmad b. Muṭarrif narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad b. ʿUmar b. Lubābah narrated to us, saying: Abū Zayd ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying: Ismāʿīl b. Abī Uways narrated to us, from Yūnus b. Yazīd, from Ibn Shihāb, from Anas b. Mālik: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wore a silver ring on his right hand, and in it was an Abyssinian stone; he used to set its stone on the side facing his palm. Abū ʿUmar said: This chain is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī), and Allah knows best. The hadith of Ayyūb b. Mūsā, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) than this.
