✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wore a gold ring for three days. When his Companions saw it, gold rings became widespread among them, so he threw it away, and no one knows what happened to it. He then adopted a silver ring and ordered that it be engraved with: 'Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' It remained on the hand of the Prophet ﷺ until he died, on the hand of Abu Bakr until he died, on the hand of 'Umar until he died, and on the hand of 'Uthman for several years of his rule. When documents became numerous for him, he gave it to a man from the Ansar, who used it for sealing. The Ansari went out to the well of 'Uthman, and it fell from him and was not found. So he ordered a ring like it and engraved on it: 'Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.'
