✧ When it was the night I was taken on the Night Journey and I awoke in Makkah, I was distressed by my affair and knew that the people would deny me. So he sat apart, sad. The enemy of Allah, Abu Jahl, passed by him, came and sat down, and said, as if mocking me: 'Has anything happened?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What is it?' He said: 'I was taken on a night journey tonight.' He said: 'To where?' He said: 'To Jerusalem.' He said: 'Then you woke up among us?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'He did not show that he believed him, so he said: 'What do you think? If I call your people, will you tell them what you told me?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O assembly of Banu Ka'b b. Lu'ayy!' The gatherings dispersed to him and they came and sat with him. He said: 'Tell your people what you told me.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I was taken on a night journey tonight.' They said: 'To where?' He said: 'To Jerusalem.' They said: 'And you woke up among us?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Some clapped and some put their hands on their heads in denial, rejecting it. They said: 'Can you describe the mosque for us?' He said: 'I went on describing, and I kept describing until some of the description became confused for me.' He said: 'The mosque was brought while I was looking at it, until it was placed near the house of Ghifar, or 'Aqil.' He said: 'I described it while I was looking at it.' He said: 'Among the people were those who had seen it, so the people said: 'As for the description, by Allah, he has got it right.'
