حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَلِيٌّ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَأَقْبَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ، فَقَالَ: هَذَانِ سَيِّدَا كُهُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ إِلَّا النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ، لَا تُخْبِرْهُمَا يَا عَلِيُّ

✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Abu Bakr and 'Umar came. He said: 'These two are the masters of the elderly of Paradise from the first and the last, except for the prophets and messengers. Do not inform them, O 'Ali.'
