✧ The Meccans, from b. 'Abbas

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ؓ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَيْسَ الْمُعَايِنُ كَالْمُخْبَرِ، أَخْبَرَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مُوسَى أَنَّ قَوْمَهُ قَدْ فُتِنُوا فَلَمْ يُلْقِ الْأَلْوَاحَ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُمْ أَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ

Translation

✧ The one who sees is not like the one who is told. Allah, Blessed and Exalted, informed Musa that his people had been tempted, but he did not throw the tablets. When he saw them, he threw the tablets.
