حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: نَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ:

قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ، قَالَ: فَلَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قَطَرَتْ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَأَفْسَدَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ مَعِيشَتَهُمْ فَكَيْفَ مَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ طَعَامٌ غَيْرُهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: “O you who believe, fear Allah as He should truly be feared.” He said: “If a drop of zaqqūm were to fall into the earth, it would ruin their livelihood. So how about one who has no food other than it?”
