✧ He called for water for ablution, rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nose, washed his face three times, and his forearms three times each, wiped his head and the tops of his feet, then laughed and said: Will you not ask me what made me laugh? We said: What made you laugh, O Commander of the Believers? He said: I laughed because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for water for ablution near this place, and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ performed ablution as I have performed ablution, then laughed as I laughed, then said: Will you not ask me what made me laugh? We said: What made you laugh, O Prophet of Allah? He said: It made me laugh that when a servant performs ablution and washes his face, Allah removes from him every sin his face committed; when he washes his forearms, it is the same; when he wipes his head, it is the same; when he purifies his feet, it is the same.
