حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ رَوْحُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:

ذُكِرَتِ الطِّيَرَةُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ وَلَا بُدَّ فَكَانَ قَوْلُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَا بُدَّ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ كَذَا " فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ لَا طَيْرَ إِلَّا طَيْرُكَ وَلَا خَيْرَ إِلَّا خَيْرُكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

✧ The topic of omens was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: 'If anyone is affected by any of that and cannot help it' — and the saying of the Messenger of God ﷺ 'and cannot help it' became dearer to us than such-and-such — 'then let him say: O God, there is no omen except Your omen, and no good except Your good, and no god other than You.'
