✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting while two sheep were fighting in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so one of them butted the other and caused it to miscarry. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed, and it was said, “What makes you laugh?” He said, “I marvel at her. By the One in whose hand is my soul, she will surely be brought to account for it on the Day of Resurrection.”

machine translationLayth b. Abī Sulaym narrates it from Abū Qays ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Tharwān, from Hudhayl, from Abū Dharr. Al-Ṭufāwī, Ṣadaqah b. Mūsā and others narrated it from him. Muḥammad b. Ḥibbān al-Baṣrī reported it from one of his shaykhs, from al-Ṭufāwī, from Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī, from Abū Qays, from Hudhayl, from Abū Dharr, and he made an error (wahima) in it. Rather, al-Ṭufāwī narrated it from Layth, from Abū Qays, and that is the correct version.
