✧ "There are three whom Allah loves, and three whom Allah hates. As for those whom Allah loves: a man who came to a people and asked them by Allah, not asking them by any kinship between them and him, but they refused him. Then a man remained behind them and gave him secretly, no one knowing of his gift except Allah and the one to whom he gave it. And a people who traveled through their night until sleep became dearer to them than anything they might equate with it; they dismounted and laid down their heads, but one man got up, seeking My favour and reciting My verses. And a man who was in a military detachment and they met the enemy and were defeated, so he advanced with his chest until he was killed or victory was granted to him. And the three whom Allah hates: the old man who commits adultery, the poor person who is conceited, and the rich person who is unjust."

machine translationZayd b. Ẓabyān did not insert anyone between Ribʿī and Abū Dharr, and he said in his hadith, "and the arrogant poor man." This hadith was also narrated by al-Aʿmash, from Manṣūr, from Ribʿī, from ʿAbdullāh, who traced it back to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh narrated that.
