✧ Abu Bakr ؓ sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was lying on his bed wearing Aisha's cloak. He granted Abu Bakr permission while he was like that, and he fulfilled his need and then left. Then Umar sought permission to enter upon him while he was in that same state, and he fulfilled his need and then left. Then Uthman sought permission to enter upon him, so he sat up and said to Aisha: "Gather your garments around you." He said: "So I fulfilled my need and then left." Aisha said: "I did not see you alarmed for Abu Bakr and Umar as you were alarmed for Uthman." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Uthman is a shy man, and I feared that if I granted him permission while I was in that state, he would not reach me concerning his need."
