✧ I wished to meet a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ to ask him about the Khawarij. I met Abu Barzah on a day of Eid among a group of his companions, and I said to him: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention the Khawarij?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my ears and saw him with my eyes. Wealth was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he gave to those on his right and those on his left, but he did not give anything to those behind him. A man from behind him stood up and said: "O Muhammad, by Allah, you have not been just to me today." He was a black man with shaved hair, wearing two white garments. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became extremely angry and said: "By Allah, you will not find after me a man more just to you than me." Then he said: "In the end of time a people will emerge, and this man is one of them. They recite the Quran but it does not pass beyond their throats. They leave Islam as an arrow passes through its target. Their mark is shaving. They will continue to emerge until the last of them emerges with the false messiah, the Dajjal. When you meet them, kill them. They are the worst of creation and creatures."
