✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to 'Umar: 'Gather your people for me.' So 'Umar gathered them at the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he entered upon him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I bring them in to you, or will you come out to them?' He said: 'Rather, I will go out to them.' So he came to them and said: 'Is there anyone among you who is not from you?' They said: 'Yes, among us are our allies, and among us are the sons of our sisters, and among us are our freed slaves.' He said: 'Our allies are from us, the sons of our sisters are from us, and our freed slaves are from us. Do you not hear that my close friends among you are the God-fearing? If you are those, then that is so; otherwise, beware lest people come with deeds on the Day of Resurrection while you come with burdens and He turns away from you.' Then he raised his hands and said: 'O people, Quraysh are the people of trust. Whoever seeks to harm them, may Allah cast him down on his nose.' He said this three times.
