حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

" إِذَا تَوَاجَهَ الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَقَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَذَا الْقَاتِلُ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ، فَمَا بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُرِيدُ قَتْلَ صَاحِبِهِ

✧ “When two Muslims meet with their swords and one kills the other, the killer and the killed are in the Fire.” They said, “O Messenger of God, this killer we know, but what about the killed?” He said, “He was intent on killing his companion.”
