حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَا: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ: نَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ - ؓ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ لَهُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَهُمْ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ أَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً

Translation

✧ A man freed six of his slaves at the time of death, having no wealth other than them, so he freed them upon his death. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, so he divided them into three parts: he freed two and kept four as slaves.
