سَمِعْتُ أَبَا غَسَّانَ رَوْحَ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سُوَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، بِنَحْوِهِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عُمَرَ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَحْنَفِ وَأَبِي عُثْمَانَ مُتَّصِلًا، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ رَجُلٌ جَلِيلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ
Translation
✧ I heard Abu Ghassan Rawh b. Hatim mention from Sulayman b. Harb, from Hammad b. Zayd, from Abu Suwayd b. al-Mughirah, from al-Hasan, from al-Ahnaf, from 'Umar, something similar. We do not know this hadith to be reported from 'Umar except through the hadith of al-Ahnaf and Abu 'Uthman in connected form. Suwayd b. al-Mughirah is a noble man from the people of Basra.
