  • al-Tirmidhi

machine translationAl-Nawawī said in his Khulāṣah regarding this statement of his: There is room for objection, because this Kathīr is extremely weak (ḍaʿīf jiddan). Perhaps in his view it was supported by corroborating narrations and other things.

    in مسند البزار, p. 3385
  • al-Bukhari

machine translationIt is the most authentic (aṣaḥḥ) thing on this topic.

    in مسند البزار, p. 3385
  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationKathīr b. ʿAbdullāh is, according to them, abandoned (matrūk).

    in مسند البزار, p. 3385
  • al-Bukhari

machine translationThere is nothing on this topic more authentic than it, and I hold by it.

    in مسند البزار, p. 3385

machine translationAl-Tirmidhī's statement that this ḥadīth is the best thing on this topic is not so; rather it is the worst ḥadīth on that topic, because Kathīr b. ʿAbdullāh mentioned is one from whom narration is not permissible, given the imams' criticism of him.
