✧ Sabigh al-Tamimi came to 'Umar b. al-Khattab and said: "O Commander of the Believers, tell me about 'By those that scatter with scattering' (al-Dhariyat 51:1)." He said: "They are the winds, and had I not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say it, I would not have said it." He said: "Then tell me about 'And those that bear a burden' (51:2)." He said: "They are the clouds, and had I not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say it, I would not have said it." He said: "Then tell me about 'And those that distribute by command' (51:4)." He said: "They are the angels, and had I not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say it, I would not have said it." He said: "Then tell me about 'And those that run with ease' (51:3)." He said: "They are the ships, and had I not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say it, I would not have said it."

- Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī
machine translationIn it is Abū Bakr b. Abī Sabrah, and he is abandoned (matrūk).
in مسند البزار, p. 334 - Bazzār
machine translationWe do not know this hadith to be narrated from the Prophet ﷺ by any route other than this one. It came, I think, from Abū Bakr b. Abī Sabrah, because Abū Bakr is lenient in hadith (layyin al-ḥadīth), and Saʿīd b. Salām was not one of the people of hadith. I mentioned this hadith only because I have not memorized it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except by this route, so I mentioned it and clarified the defect (ʿillah) in it.
