✧ What Zayd b. Thabit narrated from Abu Bakr

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْكَرَابِيسِيُّ قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:

أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ فَقَالَ: اجْمَعِ الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّكَ قَدْ كُنْتَ تَكْتُبُ الْوَحْيَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ

Translation

  5. Zayd b. Thābit

✧ Abu Bakr ؓ sent for me and said: Gather the Qur'an, for you used to write down the revelation for the Messenger of Allah.
