✧ The verse of inheritance without direct heirs (al-kalala) was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ while he was on a journey. The Prophet ﷺ stopped, and there was Hudhayfa, with the head of Hudhayfa's she-camel at the Prophet's ﷺ waist-wrapper. He received it from him, and Hudhayfa looked and saw Umar b. al-Khattab, so he passed it to him. When it was during the caliphate of Umar ؓ, Umar looked into al-kalala and called Hudhayfa and asked him about it. Hudhayfa said, "The Messenger of God ﷺ passed it to me, and I pass it to you as he passed it to me. By God, I am truthful. By God, I will never add anything to that for you ever."
