✧ People used to ask the Messenger of God ﷺ about good, but I used to ask him about evil, fearing that it would overtake me. I said, "O Messenger of God, we were in ignorance and evil, then God, Blessed and Exalted, brought this good. So is there any evil after this good?" He said, "Yes, tribulation and evil." I said, "Is there any good after that evil?" He said, "Yes, a truce upon corruption." I said, "What is its corruption?" He said, "You will be guided by other than guidance from them." I said, "Is there any evil after that good?" He said, "Yes, callers at the gates of Hell. Whoever answers them, they will cast him into it." I said, "O Messenger of God, describe them to us." He said, "They speak with our tongues." I said, "O Messenger of God, what do you command me if it overtakes me?" Meaning that time. He said, "Cling to the community of the people and their imam." I said, "What if they have no community?" He said, "Then be patient, even if you have to bite onto a tree until death overtakes you, while you are like that."
