✧ "Did the Prophet ﷺ not pray in the Bayt al-Maqdis?" I said: "Yes, he did." Hudhayfah said: "What is your name?" I said: "Zirr." Hudhayfah said: "Recite: 'Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque' (17:1). Do you find that he prayed? Had he prayed in it, prayer would have been prescribed for you in it just as circumambulation of the House has been prescribed for you. The Messenger of God ﷺ was brought a long-backed, stretched-out beast called al-Buraq, whose stride was as far as the eye could see. He said: 'We did not leave its back—I and Gabriel, upon them be peace ﷺ, meaning the back of the beast or the back of al-Buraq—until we saw Paradise and Hell.'"
