✧ Two men entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he ordered for them two dinars. They left his presence and met Umar, praising him and speaking well of him, and thanking him for what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done for them. Then I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him of what they said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “But so-and-so, I gave him between ten and a hundred, yet he did not say that. Indeed, one of them asks me and goes off with his request into the Fire.” They said: “Why do you give us what is Fire?” He said: “They refuse except to ask me, and Allah refuses for me to be miserly.”
