حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزِّبْرِقَانِ، عَنْ زُهْرَةَ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَسُئِلَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى، فَقَالَ: هِيَ الظُّهْرُ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا بِالْهَجِيرِ.

✧ We were sitting with Usamah b. Zayd in the mosque, and he was asked about the middle prayer, and he said: It is Zuhr. The Messenger of God ﷺ used to pray it at the time of intense heat.
