حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ قَالَ: أَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيٌّ وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Aḥmad b. ʿAbdah
  2. Ḥammād b. Zayd
  3. Hishām b. ʿUrwah
  4. his father
  5. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Every prophet has a close disciple, and my close disciple is al-Zubayr.
