✧ What b. 'Umar narrated from 'Umar b. al-Khattab, ᴿᴬ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ: نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حِطَّانَ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ، فَقَالَتِ: ائْتِ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَلْهُ، فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: سَلِ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ الْحَرِيرَ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ I asked Aisha about silk. She said, 'Go to Ibn Abbas and ask him.' I went to Ibn Abbas and asked him. He said, 'Ask Ibn Umar.' I asked him, and he said, 'Hafsah bint Umar told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Only one who has no share in the Hereafter wears silk."
