وَنَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ مُتَوَسِّدٌ رِدَاءَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنْ كَانَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ لَيُمْشَطُ بِأَمْشَاطِ الْحَدِيدِ مَا دُونَ الْعَظْمِ مِنَ اللَّحْمِ مَا يَصْرِفُهُ ذَلِكَ عَنْ دِينِهِ

Translation

✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was sitting at the Kaaba, using his cloak as a pillow. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Indeed those before you would be combed with iron combs, tearing the flesh from the bone, yet that would not turn him away from his religion.
