حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ:

إِنَّمَا هُمَا اثْنَتَانِ: الْهَدْيُ وَالْكَلَامُ، فَأَحْسَنُ الْكَلَامِ كَلَامُ اللهِ، وَأَحْسَنُ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ، وَشَرُّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَكُلُّ مَا هُوَ آتٍ قَرِيبٌ

Translation

✧ They are only two: guidance and speech. The best speech is the speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ. The worst of matters are their newly invented ones, and everything that is coming is near.
