✧ What b. 'Umar narrated from 'Umar b. al-Khattab, ᴿᴬ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ:

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ مَا نَعْمَلُ أَشَيْءٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ أَمْ شَيْءٌ نَسْتَأْنِفُهُ ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ شَيْءٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ ". قَالُوا: فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ ؟ قَالَ: كُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ When 'Some of them are wretched and some are blessed' was revealed, they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about what we do? Is it something already decreed or something we begin?' He said: 'Rather, something already decreed.' They said: 'Then what is the point of action?' He said: 'Everyone is facilitated for what he was created for.'
