حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: نَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ، عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:
قَالَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ: اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي زَوْجِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَفِي أَبِي أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، وَفِي أَخِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَقَدْ سَأَلْتِ اللهَ لِآجَالٍ مَضْرُوبَةٍ، وَأَرْزَاقٍ مَقْسُومَةٍ، لَا يُعَجَّلُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ قَبْلَ أَجَلِهِ، فَلَوْ سَأَلْتِ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يُعَافِيَكِ، أَوْ يُعِيذَكِ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ كَانَ خَيْرًا، أَوْ أَفْضَلَ قَالَ: وَذُكِرَتِ الْقِرَدَةُ وَالْخَنَازِيرُ، فَقُلْتُ: أَكَانَ مِمَّا مُسِخَ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَمْ يُهْلِكْ قَوْمًا فَتَرَكَ لَهُمْ نَسْلًا أَوْ عَاقِبَةً، وَقَدْ كَانَتِ الْقِرَدَةُ وَالْخَنَازِيرُ أُرَاهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ

✧ Umm Habibah said: 'O Allah, bless me in my husband, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in my father Abu Sufyan, and in my brother Mu'awiyah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'You have asked Allah for fixed terms and apportioned provisions; nothing of them is hastened before its time. If you had asked Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to grant you well-being or to protect you from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave, it would have been better, or more excellent.' He said: 'And monkeys and pigs were mentioned. I said: "Were they among those transformed from the Children of Israel?" He said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, did not destroy a people and leave them offspring or posterity. Monkeys and pigs existed, I think, before that.'

يرويه علقمة بن مرثد واختلف عنه فرواه أبو خالد الدالاني يزيد بن عبد الرحمن والثوري ومسعر بن كدام عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المغيرة بن عبد الله اليشكري عن المعرور بن سويد عن عبد الله وخالفهم عبد الرحمن المسعودي ورواه عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المستورد بن الأحنف عن ابن مسعود ووهم فيه والصواب قول أبي خالد الدالاني ومن تابعه

Marthad, from al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbdullāh al-Yashkurī, from al-Maʿrūr b. Suwayd, from ʿAbdullāh. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Masʿūdī differed from them and narrated it from ʿAlqamah b. Marthad, from al-Mustawrid b. al-Aḥnaf, from Ibn Masʿūd, and he was mistaken in it (wahima). The correct version is the statement of Abū Khālid al-Dālānī and those who followed him.
