✧ While the Messenger of God ﷺ was prostrating and around him were people from Quraysh, 'Uqbah b. Abi Mu'ayt came with the placenta of a slaughtered camel and threw it on the back of the Messenger of God ﷺ, while the Messenger of God ﷺ did not raise his head. Then Fatimah came and removed it from his back and invoked God against the one who did that. He said: When the Messenger of God ﷺ raised his head, he said: 'O God, [I invoke] You against the group of Quraysh: Abu Jahl, 'Utbah b. Rabi'ah, Shaybah b. Rabi'ah, 'Uqbah b. Abi Mu'ayt, and Umayyah b. Khalaf—or Ibn Abi Khalaf'—Shu'bah was uncertain. He said: I saw them killed on the day of Badr and thrown into the well, except Umayyah—or Ubayy—whose limbs were torn apart and was not thrown into the well.
