✧ The first hadith of Alqamah, from Abdullah b. Mas'ud, from the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا عِيسَى بْنُ قِرْطَاسٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَاهُ قَالَ: إِنِّي قَرَأْتُ الْمُفَصَّلَ فِي رَكْعَةٍ، قَالَ: هَذًّا كَهَذِّ الشِّعْرِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّظَائِرَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُهُنَّ أَوْ يَقْرَأُ بِهِنَّ، سُورَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ

Translation

✧ A man came to him and said: "I recited the Mufassal in one rak'ah." He said: "[You recited it] hastily like the recitation of poetry. I know the pairs that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite, two surahs from the Mufassal in one rak'ah."
