✧ While Abdullah was in his house, he said: "Have these people prayed?" We said: "No." He said: "Stand and pray." He did not order us to give the call to prayer or the iqamah. He said: We went to stand behind him, but he took our hands and positioned us, placing one of us on his right and the other on his left. He said: When he bowed, we placed our hands on our knees, but he struck our hands, and placed his palms together between his thighs. When he finished praying, he said: "There will be rulers over you who delay the prayer from its appointed time until the time when the dead are on the verge of death. When you see them do that, pray the prayer at its appointed time, then make your prayer with them a supererogatory one. If you are three, pray together; if you are more than that, let the eldest of you lead. When one of you bows, let him spread his forearms and thighs, then place his palms together." It was as if I could see the interlocking of the Messenger of Allah's fingers.
