✧ What Muhammad b. Abi Bakr narrated from his father Abu Bakr

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ: نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: نَا جَعْفَرٌ الْأَحْمَرُ، قَالَ: نَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، قَالَ:

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهُ قَدْ قُبِضَ فَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ ؓ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كُفْرٌ بِاللهِ تَبَرُّؤٌ مِنْ نَسَبٍ وَإِنْ دَقَّ

Translation

✧ I arrived to the Messenger of God ﷺ and found that he had passed away, and I heard Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ؓ say: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Disbelief in God is disavowing a lineage, even if it is distant.'
