حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ: أَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ لَبِيبَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ:

كُنَّا نُكْرِي الْأَرْضَ عَلَى السَّوَاقِي وَعَلَى الْمَاذِيَانَاتِ وَبِمَا سَقَى الرَّبِيعُ، فَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُكْرِيَهَا بِذَهَبٍ أَوْ وَرِقٍ.

✧ We used to lease land in return for what grew on the stream banks and the water channels and what the spring irrigated. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from that and ordered us to lease it for gold or silver.
