حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّاسُ عُمَّالَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ: لَوِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ - وَأَحْسَبُهُ أَنَّ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: فَكَانُوا يَرُوحُونَ كَهَيْآتِهِمْ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ: لَوِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ

✧ She was asked about performing ghusl on Friday. She said: The people used to be laborers for themselves, so it was said to them: 'If only you would perform ghusl.' – I think the hadith contains: 'So they would go to the prayer in their working clothes, and it was said to them: If only you would perform ghusl.'
