- al-Nabī ﷺ
✧ Ibrahim ﷺ never lied except for three lies, all of them concerning Allah: his saying, “I am sick”; his saying, “Rather, the biggest of them did it”; and while he was traveling in the land of a tyrant among the tyrants, he stopped at a place. The tyrant was told, “A man has stopped here with a woman who is among the most beautiful of people.” So he sent to him and asked him about her. He said, “She is my sister.” When he returned to her, he said, “This man asked me about you, and I said that you are my sister. Indeed, today there is no Muslim other than me and you, and you are my sister, so do not give me the lie before him.” So she was taken to him. When he went to reach for her, he was seized. He said, “Supplicate Allah and I will not harm you.” So she supplicated for him and he was released. He went to reach for her and was seized similarly or more severely. He said, “Supplicate Allah for me and I will not harm you.” So she supplicated and he was released three times. Then he called the closest of his servants and said, “You have not brought me a human being; rather, you have brought me a devil. Take her out and give her Hajar.” So she came while Ibrahim was standing praying. When he sensed her, he finished and said, “What is the matter?” She said, “Allah has sufficed against the plot of the wrongdoer, and he gave her Hajar as a servant.”
