machine translationʿAbdullāh b. ʿAwn narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Isḥāq al-Azraq raised it (to the Prophet ﷺ) from Ibn ʿAwn. Yazīd b. Hārūn said: Ibn ʿAwn raised it once and stopped it (at the Companion) another time. Bakkār b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbdillāh b. Muḥammad b. Sīrīn narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn as stopped (mawqūf). There is also disagreement about Hishām b. Ḥassān: Yazīd b. Hārūn, ʿAbdullāh b. Dāwūd, Hushaym and ʿAlī b. ʿĀṣim raised it, while Ḥammād b. Zayd stopped it at Hishām. There is disagreement about Ayyūb as well: Ḥammād b. Zayd and ʿAbd al-Wahhāb stopped it from him, and ʿAbd al-Wārith raised it from Ayyūb. Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ and ʿImrān b. Khālid raised it from Ibn Sīrīn. The one who raised it is correct (ṣaḥīḥ), and the one who stopped it is also right, because Ibn Sīrīn used to do this: he would raise it once and stop it another time.
