I used to wash, I and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from a single vessel, both of us being in a state of major ritual impurity (junub). And he would put his head out of the mosque while he was in spiritual retreat (muʿtakif) and I was menstruating, and I would wash it. And he would command me, and I would put on a wrapper (izār), then he would have contact with me while I was menstruating.
