"If a man does not pay the right of Allah Almighty in zakāh on his camels, he will be laid out for them on a wide, level plain, and they will trample him with their hooves and bite him with their mouths. Whenever the last of them has passed over him, the first of them returns to him, until he sees his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire. And the cattle, if the right of Allah Almighty is not paid on them, he will be laid out for them on a wide, level plain, and they will trample him with their hooves and gore him with their horns. Whenever the last of them has passed over him, the first of them returns to him, until he sees his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire. And the sheep and goats are likewise: they gore him with their horns and trample him with their hooves, and among them there is none with twisted horns and none hornless, until he sees his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire. And horses are of three kinds: a reward, a burden, and a covering. Whoever keeps them out of self-restraint and self-sufficiency, they will be a covering for him. Whoever keeps them as preparation for jihad in the cause of Allah, they will be a reward for him, and if he lets them graze on a long tether over a hill or two, he has a reward in that. And whoever keeps them out of boasting, show, and hostility toward the Muslims, they will be a burden for him." Someone said: "What about donkeys, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Nothing has come to me concerning donkeys except this comprehensive, unique verse: {فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ}"
