The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made two men brothers. One of them was killed and the other remained. Then he died, and they prayed over him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What did you say?" They said: "We supplicated Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to forgive him and have mercy on him, and to join him with his companion." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Then where is his prayer after the prayer of the other? And where is his deed after the deed of the other?" He said: And I think he said: "And where is his fasting after the fasting of the other? By the One in whose hand is my soul, what is between them is farther than what is between the heaven and the earth."
