أَنَّهُ أَتَى قَرْيَةً مِنْ حِمْصَ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ مِيلًا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، قُلْتُ: أَتُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا أَفْعَلُ كَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ
