( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا ابْنُ صَاعِدٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ثَنَا مَرْوَانُ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ - عَنْ زِيَادٍ - يَعْنِي مَوْلَى بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ - قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ، فَقَالَ: أَبْدَأُ بِالْيَمِينِ أَوْ بِالشِّمَالِ ؟ فَأَضْرَطَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ بِهِ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ، فَبَدَأَ بِالشِّمَالِ قَبْلَ الْيَمِينِ
