I prayed the ʿAṣr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he had given the salām, he got up quickly and went in to one of his wives. Then he came out and saw in the faces of the people their astonishment at his haste. He said: "While I was in the prayer, I remembered a piece of unminted gold that we had with us, and I disliked that it should remain with us into the evening or the night, so I ordered that it be distributed."
