( مِنْهَا مَا أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَخْتَوَيْهِ لَفْظًا، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي اللَّيْثِ، ثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَعَلَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَقْرَأُ ؟ " قَالُوا: إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُ، قَالَ: " فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَقْرَأَ أَحَدُكُمْ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ

Abī ʿĀʾishah, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn ʿUlayyah, Khālid b. ʿAbdillāh, Shuʿbah and ʿAlī b. ʿĀṣim narrated it from Khālid al-Ḥadhdhā', from Abū Qilābah, from Muḥammad b. Abī ʿĀʾishah, as a mursal report from the Prophet ﷺ. Hushaym narrated it from Khālid, from Abū Qilābah, as a mursal report, not going beyond Abū Qilābah with it. The mursal version is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).
