وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحَسَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُقْرِي، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلَانِ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ أَقْبَلْتُمَا، قَالَا: مِنْ قِبَلِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَأَحَلَّ لَنَا أَشْيَاءَ كَانَتْ تَحْرُمُ عَلَيْنَا، قَالَ: مَا أَحَلَّ لَكُمْ مِمَّا كَانَ يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْكُمْ ؟ قَالَا: أَحَلَّ لَنَا بَيْعَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْأَوْلَادِ، قَالَ: أَتَعْرِفَانِ أَبَا حَفْصٍ عُمَرَ ؓ ؟ قَالَا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ نَهَى أَنْ تُبَاعَ أَوْ تُوهَبَ أَوْ تُوَرَّثَ يَسْتَمْتِعُ بِهَا مَا كَانَ حَيًّا فَإِذَا مَاتَ فَهِيَ حُرَّةٌ

Jaʿfar al-Madīnī also narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, but the reliable memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) among the students of ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, among them Mālik and Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar and others, contradicted him. They narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿUmar as his own saying, and that is the correct version.
