أَخْبَرَنَاهُ ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ

أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ ؓ قَدِمَ خَيْبَرَ فَرَأَى فِتْيَةً أَعْجَبَهُ حَالُهُمْ فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُمْ فَقِيلَ هُمْ مَوَالِي لِبَنِي حَارِثَةَ أُمُّهُمْ حُرَّةٌ مَوْلَاةٌ لِبَنِي حَارِثَةَ، وَأَبُوهُمْ مَمْلُوكٌ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِيهِمْ فَاشْتَرَاهُ فَأَعْتَقَهُ فَاخْتَصَمَ هُوَ وَبَنُو حَارِثَةَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ؓ فِي الْوَلَاءِ فَقَضَى عُثْمَانُ ؓ بِالْوَلَاءِ لِبَنِي حَارِثَةَ، وَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ الْوَلَاءُ لَا يُجَرُّ
