( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أَنْبَأَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنْبَأَ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
أَرْدَفَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: هَلْ مَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَيْءٌ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: " هِيهِ ". قَالَ: فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا فَقَالَ: " هِيهِ ". قَالَ: فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ حَتَّى بَلَغْتُ مِائَةَ بَيْتٍ
